Edward "Cueball" Bailiff never had a chance to reach 100 years old today. Instead, he sacrificed his life for our freedom.

He was born on August 7, 1917 in California. His father was also born in California and his mother was born in Idaho. His father worked as a railroad agent and later a telegrapher. Edward had one older brother (who became a WW2 veteran), a younger sister, and a younger brother. By 1940 Edward was no longer living at home. He was attending college while working as a plumber.

He enlisted in the army on April 21, 1941. He became a second lieutenant in the Army Air Corp. He was a bomber pilot trainer. On November 16, 1944 Lt. Bailiff was killed in a training accident caused by bad weather in New Mexico.

His grave is at San Gorgonio Memorial Park in Banning, California.

Thank you Edward for your sacrifice. Let's Earn It for Edward.
